Who we are & what we do
About MyORCO
MyORCO is a multilingual online learning platform for operating room nurses. Its library of short videos shows the correct handling of around 130 medical devices and essential operating room practices, based on scenarios designed and validated by perioperative nurses. Users build their own learning path by surgical speciality or type of instrument, assess their own progress and can access the platform at any time from a computer or mobile phone. MyORCO is aimed at nurses training in perioperative care, practising perioperative nurses, and theatre managers, charge nurses and nurse educators who want to plan onboarding and follow the progress of their team or students.
MyORCO was developed with Erasmus+ funding by European universities, nursing associations and operating room professionals, with EORNA as an associated partner. In many European countries, nurses can start working in the operating room without completing specialist training. MyORCO helps new nurses gain the practical skills they need and builds on the competences set out in the EORNA Common Core Curriculum. It reflects EORNA’s commitment to accessible education and patient safety in perioperative care across Europe.
